Young minds, brilliant ideas
Without research the field of biomedical engineering would grind to a halt. We need researchers to improve existing concepts, come up with new ideas, take what is already available and make it bigger, stronger, faster, more responsive. Engineering research is what drives us forward.
The Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at UNSW is known world-wide for producing innovative research and we have received significant funding from both government and industry.
Industry leading supervisors
Our postgraduate research students are fortunate to be closely supervised by some of Australia's leading biomedical engineering researchers. Our research programs provide graduates in engineering, science or medicine the opportunity to gain specialist knowledge and training in the application of engineering principles in health care technologies.
We provide a first-class research environment where high-quality staff and students work with state-of-the-art facilities. The School cooperates closely with industry and the wider community to develop collaborative research activities that have a global impact.
Broad, relevant program content
Postgraduate research students at the UNSW Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering will learn valuable, career-advancing skills in areas such as:
- innovation and commercialisation
- learning and teaching principles
- business management
- project management
With such a well-rounded approach to postgraduate education, it is no wonder that our School's postgraduate research degrees are highly valued by tertiary institutions, industry and employers in Australia and internationally.
