UNSW is recognised globally as a leader in research and development. It has had a rich history of innovation, with many projects making the jump from investigative research to commercial application.
UNSW has always had a strong reputation of collaboration with industry. In 2013, UNSW received the second highest funding of all Australian Universities from the Australian Research Council: over $13.2m in linkage grants for projects involving industry partners.
The UNSW School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering has been a vibrant part of this connection (the school itself made possible by a grant from the Australian Research Council). Solar cell technologies and manufacturing techniques developed through the school are now in widespread use throughout industry, providing significant commercial reward.
We are focused on developing technologies that can be readily implemented in modern life. At all times we are looking to partner with forward-thinking industry members in a partnership that will be mutually beneficial. If you are interested in becoming an industry partner, please contact the School Office.
