FEAS

The Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS) is for the admission of undergraduate students to all UNSW Faculty of Engineering degree programs (including the BSc Computer Science and BSc Food Science & Technology).

Admission Process for Entry to UNSW Faculty of Engineering Programs in 2015

ATAR 91.00+

Admission on basis of ATAR (or equivalent)

ATAR 81.00-90.95

Admission on basis of FEAS

FEAS STRUCTURE

Students who achieve an ATAR (or equivalent) between 81.00 and 90.95 will be considered for admission under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS).

Applicants who do not submit a FEAS application for an interview will be considered under Step 1 and 2 of the Scheme.

Step 1

ATAR (or equivalent)

81.00-90.95

Step 2

Subjects

Performance in relevant HSC subjects/Australian Yr12 subjects

Step 3

FEAS Application

Supporting documentation and/or interview to assess additional factors related to engineering studies

The cut-off for admission to UNSW engineering programs in 2015 is expected to be an ATAR (or equivalent) of 91.00.

Below an ATAR (or equivalent) of 91.00 the Faculty recognises that there are a number of factors which signal the potential of students to succeed in engineering programs. These factors include the ATAR (or equivalent), ability in mathematics and knowledge of physical science, design and problem solving, and attitude and motivation toward engineering studies.

If you anticipate achieving an ATAR (or equivalent) between 81.00 and 90.95 then to maximise your opportunities for admission you are strongly encouraged to submit an application under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS). This provides an opportunity to upload supporting documentation and/or apply for an interview. At the interview, you will meet with an Engineering academic, exchange information and have the opportunity to show how you are suited to engineering studies.

Both 2014 Australian Year 12 and other applicants are eligible to apply for FEAS Step 3. Domestic applicants who have undertaken post-secondary or tertiary studies (eg. TAFE, University) may submit an FEAS application but will not be allocated an interview, as they will be considered on the basis of data received from the UAC. Information on the UAC application process is available at www.uac.edu.au.

The application form for the 2014 Mid-Year Admission Round will be available on this website from 10 April 2014.

FEAS information and important dates for the 2015 Admission Round will be available on this website from 1 August 2014.

Please note all domestic applicants must still lodge a UAC application for admission, and all offers are made through UAC (www.uac.edu.au). International applicants apply for Mid-Year admission direct to UNSW and are not eligible for the Mid-Year Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS). Further information is available on the UNSW website at http://www.engineering.unsw.edu.au/apply-for-undergraduate-study.
