Geoinformation Systems Degree
Geoinformation specialists (GIS) work with teams of other professionals to analyse complex situations, visualise problems and provide ‘spatial’ solutions. If you're not sure what that means, a degree in Geoinformation Systems will prepare you for a career working with GPS mapping and satellite systems. Definitely an engineering career that can take you in many directions.

What is Geoinformation Systems?
Geoinformation technologies link information in space and time. Geoinformation System specialists work with teams of other professionals to analyse complex situations, visualise problems and provide "spatial" solutions. A Geoinformation engineer is your go-to person for all things relating to digital maps - think of Google Earth and the navigation maps and directions you get on your car GPS. These were designed by Geoinformation System engineers.
Geoinformation Systems Career Opportunities
With a degree in Geoinformation Systems, you can create digital maps, manipulate satellite/airborne images, build geoweb and mobile applications, set up geographic information systems and monitor environmental parameters. You can only imagine the different private, government and military organisations that would have use for such skills - the sky's the limit.
The Bachelor of Engineering in Geoinformation Systems is recognised by the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute and Engineers Australia for admission as corporate members.
