UNSW Engineering Global Impact

Global Impact is one of the three central pillars to 2025 Strategy, UNSW’s ambitious and altruistic 10-year plan, and the Faculty of Engineering has a large role to play in achieving this.

Guided by this overarching strategic focus we are:

  • Pulling together the great work we already do on the global stage and consolidating our approach to make sure we devote our energy to the projects with the biggest positive impact.
  • Strengthening our existing relationships with international universities and industry partners to enhance our ability to deliver excellence in research and education.
  • Reaching out to new partners with similar aims and objectives as ourselves.
  • Expanding our already significant focus on humanitarian engineering to work in partnership with marginalised and disadvantaged communities in Australia, the Asia-Pacific and further afield.

From the large University-wide initiatives such as the Torch Innovation Precinct and the PLuS Alliance; to our Faculty-specific initiatives including the development of new Humanitarian Engineering focused courses and using our research to provide solutions in disaster zones; to our Student-led Projects that include Engineering World Health and Engineers Without Borders – UNSW Engineering is at the forefront of this push to make UNSW Australia’s Global University.
