Professional Accreditation

Professional accreditation is a public assurance that education programs meet international industry standards, thereby ensuring that qualifications are recognised in other countries and graduates are able to pursue international careers.

All undergraduate engineering programs offered by the Faculty of Engineering are accredited by Engineers Australia, meeting the examination requirements for admission to graduate and corporate membership. Substantial or complete recognition is accorded to the BE programs by overseas engineering institutions.

UNSW Engineering via Engineers Australia is a signatory of the Washington Accord. The USA, United Kingdom, Hong Kong (SAR), New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, China, Chinese Taipei, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Turkey are part of this international agreement which provides greater international mobility. This means that UNSW Engineering graduates can practice as accredited engineers around the world.
