Message from the Head of School

Welcome to the UNSW Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering

It is an exciting time at the School with world class research being conducted in areas including the Bionic Eye project, advanced biomaterials, stem cells, biomimetic scaffolds, regenerative medicine and modelling of a range of physiological systems.

The vision of the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering is to provide the best research and teaching outcomes relevant to the development of applications in the human health sector to help in the diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of Australians with life-threatening or debilitating diseases and conditions.  

Our teaching activities concentrate on the Master of Biomedical Engineering program. While the School’s dual degree in biomedical engineering (Bachelor of Engineering / Master of Biomedical Engineering) also continues to grow in reputation as an innovative and high quality educational program allowing undergraduate students to study Biomedical Engineering at a high level.
