High school students

We want to take this opportunity to tell you how great Biomedical Engineering is and how many more opportunities it can offer a keen ambitious mind like yours. The biomedical engineering program at UNSW teaches students how to do things such as:

  • implant medical devices
  • engineer human tissue
  • work with biomaterials
  • understand neural engineering
  • comprehend how the human body is structured for movement (biomechanics)
  • deliver health related services via communication channels (called 'telehealth')
  • process the signals that the human body gives off
  • take pictures of the human body to help diagnose issues and disease (medical imaging)
  • use computational modelling to simulate occurrences happening in the human body
