Information for first year students

Congratulations on gaining admission to Biomedical Engineering at UNSW, Australia.

O-Week (your orientation and welcome to UNSW) is on from 20 - 24 February, 2017.

Classes will commence Monday 27 February, 2017.

You should read all of the information below before following the links to enrolment.

Where do I begin?

A great source of information is the Getting Started Website. Here you will find lots of essential information about how to accept your office and enrol.

What courses do I choose?

Selecting your courses can be challenging. Remember that you are only required to enrol in 24 units of credit each semester. This means 4 courses only. You do not need to plan your whole first year's enrolment.

For advice on what courses to enrol in for your first semester, look for your program in the list below and click on the link provided.

For students in Flexible First Year Engineering please refer to the program information available.

Once you know the core courses and/or electives you want to enrol in, you can consult the UNSW Timetable to determine availability and class times.

Finally, enrolling in the courses can be done through myUNSW - make sure that you complete your enrolment and do not leave any courses as 'pending'. If a course is 'pending' you need to contact the school office. 'Pending' means you are NOT enrolled.
