At UNSW School of Chemical Engineering we try to show our hard-working students that their effort hasn’t gone under the radar. We reward our highest achievers through a range of externally funded prizes and the Faculty's Dean's Awards. 

School of Chemical Engineering awards and prizes

Each year the School offers the following prizes sponsored by industry partners and donors. Prizes are awarded to current students based on academic merit and performance within a particular course or project.

  • Era Polymers Prize in Year 3 Industrial Chemistry
    (1x $1000 prize for best performing student in INDC3001 Chemical Applications) 
  • Era Polymers Prize in Industrial Chemistry 
    (1x $1000 prize for best performing IC student in CEIC4003 Thesis B/CEIC4006 Advanced Thesis)
  • Fuel Technology Staff Prize 
    (1x $500 prize for best performing IC or CHEM student in CEIC6005 Fuel and Energy
  • Graham Fleet Memorial Prize for Food Microbiology  
    (1x $500 prize for best performing student in FOOD2320 Food Microbiology) 
  • Harold Tindale Award 1
    (1x $2500 prize for best overall performance of a IC or CHEM student in 4th year Professional Elective)
  • Harold Tindale Award 2

The Dean's Awards

The Faculty of Engineering Deans Award is an annual award made to students in all undergraduate degree courses offered in the Faculty. The award recognises significant academic achievements of students currently studying at the leading Engineering Faculty in Australia.
