Ranked as No 1 in Australia!
The School has again performed exceptionally well in the Shanghai AWRU subject rankings, recently announced on 26th June 2019. The rankings are:
Civil Engineering = 9 in the World (1st in Australia)
Water Resources = 7 in the World (1st in Australia)
Remote Sensing = 13 in the World (1st in Australia)
Consequently the School is ranked first in Australia - by both the QS World University Subject rankings (2019) and the Shanghai Jiao Tong Global Rankings of Academic Subjects (ARWU 2019).
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is conducted by leading Chinese University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It uses six objective indicators to rank world universities including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, number of highly cited researchers selected by Clarivate Analytics, number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index - Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance of a university. More than 1,200 universities are actually ranked by ARWU every year and the best 500 are published.
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of British Columbia, McGill University and the University of New South Wales are presented on the league table in 52 subjects, more than any other universities.
