Presenter: Dr Stefan Felder

Stefan was recently awarded his PhD in hydraulic engineering from the University of Queensland. His thesis was entitled “Air‐Water Flow Properties on Stepped Spillways for Embankment Dams: Aeration, Energy Dissipation and Turbulence on Uniform, Non‐Uniform and Pooled Stepped Chutes.” As a member of the Brisbane Organisation Committee for the 34th IAHR World Congress, he was responsible for the student and young professional activities and coordination of the volunteers.

Prior to his PhD, Dr Felder worked in various research and project roles in water engineering at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, the Research Institute for Water and Environment (FWU) at the University of Siegen, Germany, and the Research Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resource Management (IWW) at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. From the latter he holds a Dipl.‐Ing. degree in Civil Engineering.
