2 Day Long Workshop For High School Students Of Any Year

UNSW CompClub will be holding a 2 day long workshop for high school students of any year. This year we will be offering two streams to give students the flexibility to pick the stream that most interests them. The theme for this workshop will be Retro vs Future.
Cost: Free
Location: UNSW, School of Computer Science and Engineering
When: Saturday 20th to Sunday 21st July
Time: 10 am to 4 pm
Difficulty: Beginner
Equipment: None. Students should bring their own morning tea and lunch.

Classes
Stream Retro: We will begin with a gentle introduction to Javascript, one of the most popular programming languages in the world and an essential tool for web development. Students will then go on to program a playable version of Pong, one of the earliest arcade games.
Stream Future: Students will learn how to use A-frame, a web-based framework through which students will be able to create their own virtual reality experiences, which they will be able to personally experience with the assistance of Google Cardboard.
