Funding success - Dr Patrick Burr

Dr Patrick Burr was successful in securing the first funding for 2018, of $60K from Westinghouse Electric Sweden for a project entitled “Atomic simulations of radiation effect on re-distribution of alloying elements in Zr metal, oxide and suboxides”. The funding will be used to support a PhD student, as part of the MUZIC consortium, comprising industry (rolls-royce, EPRI, Westinghouse, EDF,  PSI, CEA, National Nuclear Laboratory, Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Studsvik) and academia (Oxford, Manchester, Imperial, UNSW, Wisconsin, Chalmers) to improve the properties of nuclear fuel cladding.
