Let’s Get Blogging!

Your Challenge: Want to be a published author? Submit a blog idea for GIE Club!

As we come to the end of the term, it’s a great time to reflect on the year that’s been. The challenges posed by Covid-19 – from doing school online to maintaining social distance from your friends – have undoubtedly led to many important and powerful learnings.

So, this month, we’d love you to share any valuable tips, information or advice with your fellow GIE club members. Think about how the world has changed so quickly and what you did to survive. How did you juggle all your schoolwork and hobbies, and socialise with your friends and family? How did you stay fit? What did you do to stay sane at home? You can be as funny or as serious as you like – just be you!

To enter the challenge, you just need to pitch us your blog idea (50 words max). We’ll select the most creative or meaningful blog ideas – and then the full written blogs will be published on the GIE website. And don’t stress … the selected blogs only need to be 300 to 400 words, so they won’t take much time to write!

Not sure where to start? Think about…

  • What do you wish you had known at the start of this year?

  • What advice would you give your younger self?

  • What types of blogs/content do you enjoy reading?

  • How can you make your idea relevant to students from a range of ages, backgrounds and geographical locations?

Submit your idea by the 15th of January via email to wie@unsw.edu.au. We will alert the winners shortly after so that they can write the blogs before school is back in 2021!
