Profile: Yesenia Saavedra

I am one of the PhD candidates in the School of Mining Engineering who is undertaking research in the mineral processing area and under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Seher Ata. My research project is to classify flotation frothers based on frothability and froth stability properties. The importance of this frother classification is to provide a qualitative and quantitative guideline for flotation industry to select the correct frother according to the application. I am also conducting a computational fluid dynamic study to understand the effect of frother concentration on bubble coalescence dynamics and obtain an insight into the fluid dynamic properties regulating coalescence: Yesenia Saavedra.
