New Undergraduate program changes FAQ’s for current engineering students

Why have the programs changed?
This was prompted by the changing of UNSW requirements for Bachelor Honours degree qualifications. The changes also align with broader quality initiatives in Australian Higher Education, including the guidelines in the Australian Qualifications Framework.

The structure and content of the degrees remain exactly the same for most disciplines, with only minor structural changes in some degrees. For more information about individual disciplines of engineering, please consult the 2016 UNSW handbook. There is no change to any accreditation eligibility.

What if I don't want to do the new honours degree?
If you are an existing engineering student and are happy with the program you are in, then you don't have to do anything as you will be under the existing program rules attached to your existing program.

If I transfer into an existing BE program and later change my mind, can I transfer back?
No, you will have to transfer into one of the new BE (Hons) programs.

What if I applied to transfer for S2.15 through the IPT system but want to transfer to an existing program?
If you have already applied to transfer via IPT into one of the new (honours) programs but now want to stay in an existing program, you are able to delete your IPT application online up until 30th October 2015.

How will I find out if my transfer is successful?
You will find out if your transfer is successful through the same avenue as those who have applied online.
