Tyree Energy Technology Building - Credit: Richard DrewThe $123.5 million Tyree Energy Technologies Building (TETB) has been designed to provide a space where research, education and industry can collaborate to develop and then practically implement sustainable energy technologies.

The TETB has received a 6 Star Green Star Design rating, awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia, making it the fourth 6 Star education facility in Australia and a first for UNSW. This accreditation represents world leadership in environmentally sustainable building practices.

The facility integrates innovative environmental systems and sustainable design philosophies into a flexible state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratory building of five and a half levels (approximately 15,000 m2) that includes a flexible laboratory modules (some clean rooms and PC2 compliant), a series of formal and informal collaboration spaces, administrative spaces, teaching and learning spaces, engineering workshops and engineering research display spaces.
