Prizes and awards
The School of Petroleum Engineering is keen to foster and celebrate student achievement and recognise their hard work. Each year the School gives out a number of prizes and awards to high performing students within our School . We are further pleased to see student excellence recognised by the broader University and profession.
Annual school awards
Each year the School in conjunction with industry sponsors and the SPE Student Chapter award high performing students at our Annual Awards Dinner.
The first group of awards are to students who have demonstrated outstanding overall academic performance among their peers. These awards go to the outstanding student in each year of the undergraduate program along with the outstanding postgraduate coursework and postgraduate research students.
There are also awards given out to the highest performing student(s) in more than ten different undergraduate courses.
The Dean's Award and Honours List
The Dean's Awards are highly prestigious awards offered by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. These Awards recognise the Faculty's highest achieving students – those who have a minimum High Distinction average (an overall cumulative WAM of 85). While the Dean's Honours List recognises high achieving engineering students who have maintained a Distinction average (cumulative WAM of at least 75).
