Each year we participate in the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade and give our members the opportunity to create a concept, design and prototype, and build a float to give students and staff who are part of or support the LGBTIAQ+ community to participate in the Mardi Gras Parade and champion diversity at UNSW.

Engiqueers is also a part of the Industry Partnership Program which aims to bring industrial training and graduate opportunities to members by participating in networking and mentorship opportunities.

Why should you join?

Who we are looking for

We are looking for students who are a part of or support the LGBTIAQ+ community and believe that creating a more diverse and inclusive culture within UNSW Engineering will result in employable and innovative engineers.

My Story -

"UNSW and engiqueers are really passionate about giving LGBT+ students a voice so putting together a Mardi Gras float seemed like a great way to do that while giving the whole UNSW community something to unite behind and work on Together."

"To me the float is a symbol of UNSW coming together to support the queer members of its community. The process of building the float with the other marchers has helped develop relationships with students and faculty alike as well as appreciate the resources and support available to us."
