The Malcolm Chaikin Prize for Research Excellence in Engineering

$10,000 will be awarded to the doctoral student in the Faculty of Engineering who is judged to have produced the best PhD thesis, in the broadest sense, each calendar year.
Criteria for the award include the quality of the thesis, the ability to convey the excitement of Engineering to fellow members of the university and the scientific community as well as raising the profile of Engineering in the community at large.
Candidates do not apply for the prize, but will be considered for the award in the year their thesis is formally accepted for graduation.
