FEAS structure

Students who achieve an ATAR (or equivalent) between 82.00 and 91.95 will be considered for admission under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS).

Applicants who do not submit a FEAS application for an interview will be considered under step 1 and 2 of the Scheme.

Step 1

ATAR (or equivalent)

Step 2

Performance in relevant HSC subjects/Australian year 12 subjects.

Step 3

FEAS application

Supporting documentation and/or interview to assess additional factors related to engineering studies.

The Guaranteed Entry score for admission to UNSW Engineering programs in 2017 is an ATAR + Bonus Points (or equivalent) of 92.00.

Below an ATAR (or equivalent) of 92.00 the Faculty recognises that there are a number of factors which signal the potential of students to succeed in engineering programs. These factors include the ATAR (or equivalent), ability in mathematics and knowledge of physical science, design and problem solving, and attitude and motivation toward engineering studies.

If you anticipate achieving an ATAR (or equivalent) between 82.00 and 91.95, then to maximise your opportunities for admission you are strongly encouraged to submit an application under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS). As part of this process you will upload supporting documentation and/or apply for an interview. At the interview, you will meet with a UNSW Engineering academic, have the opportunity to ask questions and demonstrate how you are suited to engineering studies.

Both 2016 Australian year 12 and other applicants are eligible to apply for FEAS Step 3. Domestic applicants who have undertaken post-secondary or tertiary studies (e.g. TAFE, university) may submit a FEAS application but will not be allocated an interview, as they will be considered on the basis of data received from UAC. Visit UAC’s website for information on the application process.

Applications are open now, register here.

Please note all domestic applicants must still lodge a UAC application for admission, and all offers are made through UAC.

International applications

International applicants apply for admission direct to UNSW and are not eligible for the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS). Further information is available for international students on the UNSW International student website.
