A range of scholarships are available to students going on exchange.
Scholarship covering your exchange application fee
The Faculty funds the exchange applications fee valued at AUD$220 for UNSW Engineering undergraduate students. Also available to UNSW undergraduate students undertaking a dual degree program in another faculty, when at least 75% of the exchange courses are for the Engineering component of the dual degree.
Engineering at UNSW Exchange Scholarship
Eight scholarships are available yearly and each is valued at AUD$1,800. No application required for this Scholarship - recipients will be considered based on their UNSW Exchange application.
The Top-up Scholarship is valued at AUD$700 and may be awarded to engineering students who are granted a UNSW Student Exchange Scholarship. There are fifteen scholarships available yearly and no application required. Recipients will be considered based on their UNSW Exchange application.
Exchange Assistance Scholarship
This scholarship is valued at $5,000 to encourage students with financial needs to experience a formal international exchange. The Exchange Assistance Scholarship requires a separate application. Visit the Exchange Assistance Scholarship page for more information.

- UNSW Student Exchange Scholarships awarded to eligible students with the highest academic grades from each Faculty. Learn more here.
- OS-Help provides Commonwealth Government financial assistance to eligible students, to help pay a range of overseas study expenses. Students may receive loans from AUD$1,000, indexed annually. In 2014, the maximum you can borrow for a six-month period is: $6,250 if studying outside Asia; or $7,500 if studying in Asia. Further information available here.
- Centrelink Payments, such as Youth Allowance, can usually be continued while on exchange. You must notify Centrelink of your exchange before leaving Australia otherwise payments may be stopped. More here.
