What is Mechanical Engineering?
The results of mechanical engineering are all around us. Every machine we use stems from the work of mechanical engineers - from planes and tractors, to conveyor belts and 3D printers. It looks to make life easier by improving efficiency, sustainability, and discovering new technologies.

Whether they are discovering new medical diagnostics and treatments, developing autonomous urban transport systems, or inventing composite materials to revolutionise manufacturing processes, our renowned researchers in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering aim to make the future better for everyone.
